Image is that of the church across from Smith College on Route 9 in Northampton, MA.

"I literally took a photo of this scene from my car while I was driving. I just loved how the sun was hitting the church and the fact that the shadows on either side of the street lead your eye right to the church. I always keep a camera in the car and I this particular case it was the only way to capture this image, there was know way I could set up in the street and start painting. When I got home and looked at the photo I gain a great appreciation of the shadows, without them, the painting isn't as strong."
