About the Show

Behind the ScenesOn The Menu is a weekly cooking show featuring restaurants and chefs from Western New England. In each episode, Host Betty Rosbottom welcomes a chef to the WGBY studio kitchen where they prepare three recipes together.

As Betty peppers the guests with questions about preparation and cooking time, chefs share tips and expertise as well as stories about their professional journeys.

The cuisine presented ranges from Mediterranean to Laotian – with plenty of American fare.

Behind the ScenesEach 30-minute program also features two segments: "Paul’s Picks" and "Simon's Kitchen Tips." "Paul's Picks" features recommendations about which wines to pair with the recipes featured on the show, and is hosted by Paul Provost of Northampton's Table & Vine.

Interns helping on set"Kitchen Tips," hosted by UMass chef Simon Stevenson, provides viewers with information about everything from artichokes to shopping at Asian markets.
