This is one of the original 1200 machines Indian made for the U.S. government. It was not much more than a civilian machine with military paint and fenders. Unfortunately, the 45 cubic inch engine did not run well on the low octane, European gas. Indian went back to the drawing board, reconfigured the cylinders and heads to create the 741 model.
