Jim Seidell

"We’re only the caretakers of these bikes and if we take good care of them they’re gonna last way beyond us. Because that’s what this restoring is all about- taking care of it while you own it and when you’re through with it, the next guy will take care of it."

Even when he was in high school, Jim Seidell was always looking, hoping to find an Indian motorcycle. Years later, he finally got his chance. He bought a "basket case", a ‘47 Chief, at the Indian Homecoming Rally in Springfield, MA and was driving it a month later. Today, he has ridden close to 30,000 miles on it, many of those accompanied by his son, Jamie, wth his restored police bike. His most recent restoration was a 1937 Sport 4 that he admits can go over 100mph. Jim has owned other bikes- Harleys, Triumphs, BSA’s and Hondas but you won’t find him riding any of those bikes today. Why? According to Jim, "No thrill".
