Renewable Resources

A renewable resource is one that is used at a rate that does not exceed the rate at which it is replenished. Examples of renewable resources are:

A non-renewable resource is one that is used at a rate that exceeds the rate at which it is replenished. Minerals, petroleum, and coal are non-renewable resources. Sometimes air and water are non-renewable resources if they are polluted and they can no longer be used. Forests can be non-renewable resources as well, if they are used faster than they are replenished.
