Coos County

The headwaters of the Connecticut River (and the three other Connecticut Lakes) lie in the township of Pittsburg, New Hampshire in Coos County. Pittsburg is the largest township in the United States, covering over 300,000 acres, but only about 1000 people live there. Bordering Canada, it is the northernmost town in New Hampshire. There is only one other Coos County ("Coe-hoss") in the U.S. It's located in Oregon.
