Center for Instructional Technologies
The WGBY Center for Instructional Technologies (CIT) is a professional development resource center for Massachusetts educators and anyone else who requires the services of this unique facility.
Officially opened in April, 1999, the CIT is housed in WGBY's downtown Springfield facilities, and is a part of WGBY Education & Community Outreach. The CIT houses the following features:
- A climate-controlled computer lab with 18 work-stations that were upgraded with new hardware in the fall of 2005, thanks to a gift from Intel®.
- Each work station is equipped with a Dell computer loaded with Windows XP Professional, flat-screen monitor and optical mouse.
- All workstations have immediate access to the Internet.
- Smart Board
- large-screen VHS video player
- An overhead video projector that can display input from DVD or a computer onto the Smart Board.
WGBY has the capability to host workshops on a number of educational technology themes, or to lend use of this space to any community organization in need of a multimedia computer facility.
