Biography, Phyllis Lerner

 

Phyllis Lerner, M.A., is Director of interweave (Bethesda, MD), an organization specializing in educational equity and effectiveness training. interweave programs typically designed fro teachers and administrators from pre-school through graduate school, have also been adapted for community groups, including parents, social service personnel and business leaders.

Ms. Lerner’s background includes over two decades of teaching experience at the elementary, secondary and university levels, as well as a special service consultant for the California State Department of Education. Recently, she assisted in the development of and appeared in a Master of Arts in Teaching video series produced and disseminated by Lee Canter Educational Productions. Additionally, she worked to produce, direct and present a gender equity inservice series for The Educational Channel, Baltimore County Public Schools.

As a national Trainer of Trainers in programs such as TESA and GESA, and as a leader in issues ranging from effectiveness in teaching to equity in athletics, Ms. Lerner has appeared on a variety of local and national public radio and television shows, and has been an invited speaker at hundreds of conferences.
